The Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology in the School of Education, University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor (one year with the potential to renew for a second year) to teach in its APA-accredited doctoral program and NASP-accredited CAS program in School Psychology. The Department is especially interested in diverse candidates with a strong teaching record and evidence of scholarly engagement. The anticipated start date is August, 2022.

Duties/Responsibilities include:

  • Teach a 2:2 graduate course load (including the possibility of online courses). Courses to be determined based on the specialization(s) of the applicant and needs of the program
  • Engage in scholarly research and publication
  • Participate in the evaluation of student portfolios, comprehensive exams, and other school psychology program activities as needed
  • Support assigned student advisees
  • Participate in departmental and school psychology faculty meetings
  • Participate in the admissions process for doctoral and CAS programs in school psychology


Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in School Psychology (preferably from APA-accredited program) awarded by start date from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Licensed/License-eligible candidate preferred
  • Experience in teaching preferred
  • Experience in applied research preferred
