The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning August, 2022. The faculty members will teach in the Health Service Psychology PsyD (Combined Clinical and School Psychology) program and the Clinical Psychology Master’s Program. The Health Service Psychology and Clinical Psychology programs are housed within the College of Human Sciences and Humanities. Appointment is for a 9-month term at the Visiting Assistant Professor level. The eligible candidate needs to have earned a doctorate in school or clinical psychology (or combined program) from an APA-accredited program. Responsibilities include teaching 3-4 graduate-level classes (each fall and spring) as well as student advising/mentoring and participation on college, program and departmental committees. One of these positions will be responsible for supervising students in the clinic and classroom. Preference will be given to applicants with evidence of or potential for teaching excellence across a wide range of psychology courses, particularly with emphases related to multicultural competence, supervision, mood/anxiety, or substance use. Those with bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
UHCL is currently a bachelors and masters granting university with select doctoral programs. Located adjacent to the NASA-Johnson Space Center, the UHCL campus is set within the scenic Armand Bayou Nature Preserve, thirty minutes from both downtown Houston and Galveston Island.
