The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking two faculty psychologists to join our team and help expand the mental and behavioral health services of children, adolescents, and families.

You will find a detailed job description here, as well as application instructions. That said, I know it is often hard to decipher what a position will actually look like with the announcement alone, so I also wanted to share some highlights:

  • The positions can be tenure or non-tenure track.
  • They can be tailored to fit your professional goals, with varying breakdowns of direct clinical service, supervision, research, and service/administration.
  • There is support for the development of new programs/services.
  • We prioritize services to underserved populations in rural regions in Texas.
  • Our state-of-the-art Relational Health Unit will soon be complete; this will include outpatient, intensive outpatient, and crisis stabilization services all in one new wing of the children’s hospital.
  • The TTUHSC Department of Psychiatry is a part of several state-wide initiatives, which utilize telehealth to provide services to youth in school districts and primary care offices.
  • We have an interdisciplinary, collegial setting.
  • Psychology is highly valued in the department, institution, and community.
  • There are opportunities to help train psychology and psychiatry learners at various levels (doctoral students, residents, fellows).
  • Our community has a low cost of living.
  • Positions come with competitive salary and benefits.
