The Department of Educational Psychology, School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time Tenured/Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor position within an APA-accredited School Psychology Program. The specific area of research expertise for this position is open; however, we seek applicants with an established and fundable programmatic line of research that contributes significantly to child psychology/ the profession of school psychology. A background in consultation and/or behavioral assessment is preferred. The successful applicant will join a team of nationally recognized faculty with expertise in diversity science and a record of external funding to support their research and outreach activities. Applicants should have well-defined programs of research, demonstrated expertise or promise in obtaining extramural funding, and evidence of dedication to high-quality graduate teaching and mentoring. The program and department are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.

The School Psychology Program (http://spsy.tamu.edu) is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology (http://epsy.tamu.edu), along with programs in Counseling Psychology (APA accredited), Special Education, Bilingual/ESL Education, Research, Measurement, and Statistics, and Learning Sciences. The School Psychology Program also has strong ties with Texas A&M University’s Psychology Department as well as the School of Public Health. The department and university provide a stimulating and supportive environment for research, teaching, and programmatic funding with a strong value on collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Major Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a coherent and productive program of research that will impact child psychology/ the profession of school psychology.
  2. Maintain publication activity in high-quality journals.
  3. Supervise graduate student research.
  4. Seek and secure external funding to support research, personnel preparation, and/or outreach.
  5. Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and school/college levels.
  6. Teach, provide clinical supervision, and mentor graduate students.
  7. Work to extend research efforts to diverse populations.

Appointment:
This is a full-time nine-month appointment beginning August 2023. Salary and start-up package are competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and program of research.

Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field
2. Licensure as a Psychologist or Eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in Texas
3. Evidence of, or potential for, developing significant research and quality publications
4. Evidence of success or strong potential for securing external research funding
5. Commitment to teaching, research, and service that includes individuals from diverse backgrounds
6. Commitment to collegiality and collaboration
7. A background in consultation and/or behavioral assessment is preferred
