Assistant Professor (Counseling and School Psychology)
The Division of Education and Counseling at Rivier University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Counseling and School Psychology) position. This will be a full-time, non- tenure track, renewable, 9-month per year appointment in the Division of Education and Counseling. The position will include responsibilities in graduate programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and School Psychology as well as in the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Counseling and School Psychology program. Responsibilities
The new faculty member will join the core Counseling and School Psychology faculty in the training of graduate and doctoral students, with the following primary responsibilities:

  • Assume teaching, advisement, and mentoring responsibilities for graduate and doctoral students in counseling and school psychology. Opportunities for face-to-face and online teaching.
  • Serve on doctoral research committees.
  • Provide University-based supervision for students completing practica and internships.
  • Participate in student and program data collection and assessment.
  • Participate in ongoing program growth and development, particularly with respect to the integration of social justice throughout all program experiences.
  • Participate in recruitment, retention, and enrollment opportunities to maintain a diverse group of graduate and doctoral students.
  • Maintain professional and licensure requirements commensurate with teaching graduate and doctoral courses and supervising practica and internships. Hold or obtain a license as a psychologist in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Provide service to the Program and University.
  • Develop/maintain an active research agenda that promotes student involvement.
  • Join an experienced and talented faculty to model collaboration for student success as counselors and psychologists.
Qualifications
Applicants with the following experience, knowledge, and scholarship are encouraged to apply:
  • Earned doctorate in School or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with a minimum of two years of academic or clinical practice.
  • Licensed as a psychologist or license-eligible as such in the state of New Hampshire. Preference will be given to applicants who hold a license as a psychologist in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Graduate teaching or clinical supervision experience in counseling and/or school psychology.
  • Demonstrated scholarship, including applied research, in the areas of counseling and/or school psychology.
