The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence and the Psychology Department seek candidates for a Psychologist position.  Applicants must have experience in evaluating individuals for Autism and other developmental disorders. The hired individual will have a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychology and serve as a member of the School Psychology Program faculty.

Located on the main campus in Logan, Utah, this is a 1.0 FTE, term appointment, 12-month fiscal year position. Review of applications will begin April 26 2023 and will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023, although this is negotiable.

Responsibilities

  1. Engage in evaluations for individuals suspected of Autism and other developmental concerns (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD) as part of an interprofessional team.
  2. Supervise psychology student trainees in conducting psychological evaluations.
  3. Teach classes in the School Psychology program in the Psychology Department.  Teaching load will initially consist of assessment courses.
  4. As time and expertise permits, supervise school psychology students in other psychological activities, including within a school-based mental health collaborative.
  5. Serve as a member of the School Psychology Program faculty.
  6. Engage in service and outreach activities to support the mission of the Sorenson Center, Psychology Department, College, and USU.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
  • Licensure in Utah (or eligibility for licensure) as a psychologist.
  • Experience and training in Autism evaluations, including proficiency with the ADOS- 2.
  • Knowledge of school psychology and school systems.
  • Familiarity with psychoeducational assessment as well as ethical and legal mandates related to the practice of school psychology.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work well in a diverse and inclusive team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
  • Doctoral degree in school psychology.
  • Experience working in an interprofessional health care setting.
  • Eligibility for educational licensure as a School Psychologist (through the Utah State Board of Education).
  • Licensed as a psychologist for at least 2 years.
  • Experience providing mental health services to youth.
  • Experience working in the K-12 school setting.
