Job Description:

The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in school psychology beginning August 2024. In addition to our NASP-approved specialist in education program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a master’s program in clinical psychology, and a PsyD in applied psychology. The Department of Psychology is housed in the collaborative College of Education and Behavioral Sciences which also has programs in teacher education (including special education), counseling, educational leadership and administration, military sciences, and more.

Responsibilities for the position include teaching graduate (e.g., intellectual assessment, functional behavioral assessment) and undergraduate coursework (e.g., behavior modification); conducting scholarly research and publishing; advising graduate and undergraduate students; and guiding graduate research as well as serving on graduate research committees. Additional responsibilities include serving on program, department, college, and university committees, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in School Psychology or a related field by the posted start date. Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and have an active and productive program of scholarly research.
