The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence and the Psychology Department seek candidates for a Psychologist position. Applicants must have experience in evaluating individuals for Autism and other developmental disorders. The hired individual will have a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychology.  Located on the main campus in Logan, Utah, this is a 1 FTE, 12-month fiscal year position. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024, although an earlier or later start date is possible. The position is contingent on a successful background check.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in evaluations for individuals suspected of Autism and other developmental concerns (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD) as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Supervise psychology student trainees in conducting psychological evaluations.
  • Teaching opportunities in the Department of Psychology are negotiable based on interest and need.
  • As time and expertise permits, engage in and supervise psychology students in other psychological activities, including intervention work within the individual’s area of expertise.
  • Engage in service and outreach activities to support the mission of the Sorenson Center, Psychology Department, College, and USU.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
  2. Licensure in Utah (or eligibility for licensure) as a psychologist.
  3. Experience and training in Autism evaluations, including proficiency with the ADOS- 2.
  4. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work well in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
  2. Experience working in an interprofessional health care setting.
  3. Licensed as a psychologist for at least 2 years.
  4. Experience providing mental health services to youth.
