Clinical Open Rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) professor of practice non-tenure-track position for Ph.D. school psychologist beginning Fall 2024.
We seek a highly organized, knowledgeable, outstanding school psychologist and administrator to join the School/Clinical Child Psychology program at UT Austin as the director of training in our Master in School Psychology (MA/SSP) program. The person hired will help organize and monitor school-based practicum experiences and master’s level internship experiences and teach/supervise school-based practicum seminars for master’s students as well as doctoral students in the School/Clinical Child program. Other teaching opportunities will depend on the applicant’s interest and areas of expertise and could include courses on cognitive assessment, academic assessment, law and ethics, as well as undergraduate courses as part of the educational psychology minor. There are also opportunities for the applicant to be involved with a training grant from the Department of Education focused on training master’s level school psychologists in evidence-based, culturally affirming mental health interventions for schools.
The ideal candidate for this position will: (1) have a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited school psychology program; (2) be a licensed specialist (or license eligible) in school psychology (LSSP) in the State of Texas; (3) have successful experience working as a school psychologist in school settings; (4) be a licensed psychologist (or license eligible) in the State of Texas; (5) have a demonstrated track record of strong clinical supervision, advising, and teaching, (6) have knowledge about NASP accreditation process to assist in advancing the program from NASP candidacy to NASP accreditation, and (7) have experience supporting the training of school psychologists for work in high-needs schools serving culturally and linguistically diverse students.
This is a full-time position. Salary for the position is commensurate with experience and background. A multi-year commitment and contract is possible and preferred after the successful completion of the initial year. . Submit application materials through Interfolio.
