In recent years, APA’s Division 16 Committee on Ethnic and Minority Affairs has been holding an annual undergraduate recruitment and mentorship program at the Annual National Association of School Psychologists Convention. Here, we invite undergraduates from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds who are considering graduate work in school psychology to attend the NASP conference for a day. Their registration fee is waived for the day, and they are matched with graduate student mentors.
Our committee hosts the day with opening and closing remarks and invites participation from the various graduate training programs. Last year, our event was extremely well-attended by program faculty from all across the country and the students really enjoyed the experience, so we’re hoping to include even more students this year.
We are trying to have strong undergraduate scholar representation once again. Please share this linked flyer widely and have your undergraduate scholars consider completing a short online application if interested. The brief application can be found at https://umdsurvey.umd.edu/jfe/form/SV_9Y4DHJwU4jX3wuW (and in the flier text) and must be submitted by November 20, 2023.
