The Department of Psychology at Utah Tech University (UT) invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions as Assistant Professors of Psychology from individuals who hold a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program (or be ABD with anticipated completion before appointment).
We seek dedicated teacher-scholars who will contribute both to our undergraduate psychology program and a future Master’s degree program in Clinical Psychology, which we are currently proposing and for which we will be seeking APA accreditation. We seek colleagues committed to excellence in teaching, clinical training, and program development—faculty who model ethical practice and are prepared to contribute to the education of future mental health professionals in alignment with APA accreditation standards. UT is particularly welcoming to active learning modalities in our coursework.
We are also interested in candidates who have experience and training in working ethically and effectively with diverse populations, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to multicultural competence. We also encourage applications from individuals who identify as members of historically marginalized or underrepresented groups, including but not limited to women, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and persons with disabilities. The program is dedicated to fostering an inclusive learning environment and values the unique perspectives, experiences, and contributions that diverse faculty bring to our community.
UT’s psychology program includes a robust undergraduate program in Psychology and a graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is developing a new Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. The department has recently expanded into a new state-of-the-art building featuring a dedicated psychology training clinic. These positions provide a unique opportunity to build and shape a new graduate program in a dynamic and supportive academic environment.
