School Psychologists Invited to Comment on APA’s Revised Bullying Resolution

APA Division 16 is sharing a request from APA’s Committee on Children, Youth, and Families (CYF) for feedback on the proposed 2026 revision of the Resolution on Bullying Among Children and Youth. School psychologists are especially encouraged to contribute their expertise.

The proposed revision incorporates current research and terminology and addresses emerging forms of bullying and victimization, including those in digital environments. It aims to strengthen APA’s advocacy and support the research, dissemination, and implementation of evidence-based prevention, assessment, and intervention strategies.

Key reasons for the update include:

  • The continued prevalence of bullying among children and youth
  • Growing concern about cyberbullying
  • Increased recognition of bias-based harassment
  • The need for culturally responsive prevention and intervention approaches
