Job Summary

As professional practice leader of the Psychoeducational Research and Training Centre (PRTC) in the Faculty of Education, the position provides clinical and professional practice leadership for delivery of and training in multi-faceted psychoeducational assessment and intervention services. Position includes planning, coordination, development, delivery, supervision and administration of clinical services, programs and training activities.

Organizational Status

Reports to the Director, PRTC.  Works cooperatively as a member of a team of professionals, actively participating in and contributing to the development and delivery of effective and efficient psychological services and training activities. Works in collaboration with the Internship Program Director of Training, as well as Faculty and staff in academic and professional training programs in other areas of psychoeducational services.

Work Performed

1. Provides individual psychoeducational assessment and intervention for child, youth and adult clients.

2. Provides clinical supervision and training for pre and post- doctoral school psychology interns and PRTC clinicians.

3. Provides case and clinic program management and participates in administrative meetings as a member of the PRTC team.

4. Participates in the development of policies and processes that promote effective delivery of psychoeducational services as well as procedures and practices to ensure effective clinical training.

5. Collaborates with internship and program faculty to develop and deliver programs that strengthen intern and clinician ability to engage in effective psychological service delivery.

6. Consults with the PRTC team on the delivery of legal, ethical and professional standards of practice.

7. Liaises with external community stakeholders, professional organizations, post-secondary institutions, and other partners to support effective clinical training and delivery of psychoeducational services.

8. Provides consultation services to clinical supervisors regarding the impact of policies, processes and practices on client wellbeing as well as specific client and trainee concerns.

9. Participates in the design, implementation, and analysis of program evaluation and research projects undertaken by the PRTC.

10. Contributes to the development and delivery of programs, initiatives, and other special events related to the work of the unit.

11. Prepares reports, publications and other documents as required.

12. Performs other duties consistent with the mandate of the PRTC as requested.
