The School Psychology Program at Lehigh University is seeking a Visiting Professor whose primary responsibility will be the provision of university-based supervision and coordination of practicum and internship experiences in addition to teaching.  The invitation for applications is immediately effective and will remain open until the position is filled.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in School Psychology and be a licensed psychologist.  Further, successful candidates will have experience as a school psychologist and in providing clinical supervision in K-12 schools.

Position Description

This Visiting Professor is a 9-month position.  This faculty member will be responsible for practicum and internship supervision for all students in our ED.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in a variety of school, community, and pediatric sites.  Supervision responsibilities include group meetings with students who are completing practicum and internship training. In addition to, this faculty member will provide didactic training on topics relevant to direct service delivery as well as training on theories and models of supervision. This faculty member will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our established network of practicum sites; assisting students with securing practicum and internship placements; ensuring practica and internships meet accreditation requirements for APA, NASP, and CDSPP; communicating with other instructors in the college to ensure alignment of practicum experiences and course content; and communicating regularly with the on-site supervisors about students’ performance and progress in their placements. Finally, this faculty member will be responsible for teaching one course during the academic year.  Opportunity to expand this position through summer teaching is possible.

Approved by APA and NASP at the doctoral level, and conditionally approved by NASP at the Ed.S level, the School Psychology Program at Lehigh University serves about 60 full-time students across Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs.  Practicum sites are situated in K-12 schools, as well as early childhood and pediatric centers, in urban, suburban, and rural areas surrounding the Lehigh Valley.   The diversity in field training opportunities reflects the program’s philosophy to prepare school psychologists who are competent to serve children who are diverse in terms of culture and contexts, and who are prepared to work across child-serving systems.  The School Psychology program is one of five programs in the College of Education; other programs include Counseling Psychology; Educational Leadership; Special Education; and Teaching, Learning, and Technology.
