Are you attending the 2024 NASP Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana?

Do you enjoy connecting with and mentoring others? Would you be interested in mentoring an undergraduate student from an ethnically and/or racially marginalized group to help them learn more about the field of school psychology? If yes, we believe you would be great mentors for prospective school psychology students!

The American Psychological Association Division 16 (School Psychology) Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA) invites graduate student mentors who are passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion and interested in inspiring the next generation of school psychologists to participate in the 2024 NASP Undergraduate Program.

Program Overview: Undergraduate students from racially and/or ethnically marginalized groups have been invited to attend the 2024 NASP Convention in New Orleans, LA. Undergraduate scholars will have access to attend the full conference free of charge. The program DOES NOT cover travel or accommodations for undergraduate scholars.

Graduate Mentor Commitment: This will be the first conference for many of our undergraduate scholars. While we do not ask you to spend the full convention with your mentee, we do ask graduate mentors to be actively engaged with their assigned mentee before, during, and ideally beyond the conference. Mentors can give tips for preparing for and attending large conferences, assist mentees with navigating the conference, meet up for meals/breaks, invite mentees to attend your presentation, attend sessions together, etc.

Mentors are strongly encouraged to join the program’s opening and closing events on Thursday, Feb. 15:
