Supplement to Interdisciplinary Frameworks for Schools

This Web page is designed to support and extend the work initiated in the book, “Interdisciplinary Frameworks for Schools: Best Professional Practices for Serving the Needs of All Students” by Virginia Wise Berninger, PhD. The Web page is intended to be an evolving resource for the professional community and, in that spirit, educational scientist-practitioners are encouraged to submit additional readings and resources to Div. 16 to be considered for future inclusion.

Readings and resources currently found on the site include:

Another goal of the book and this Web page is to honor educational practitioners from varied disciplines who are role models for best professional practices. The Honor Role Model List (PDF, 8.3KB) acknowledges exemplary individuals who have worked on interdisciplinary teams to make important contributions, and the Rose Award honors exemplary educational practitioners serving students living in poverty. Readers are encouraged to submit nominations for the Honor Role Model List and Rose Award to Div. 16.

Although the current focus of the Web page is on K-12 education, future Web postings and revisions may also cover birth to pre-K and postsecondary.

The book and Web page were developed with input from an interdisciplinary advisory panel. View the list of advisory panel members and their bio sketches (PDF, 87KB).
